The Twin Tag

For anyone that doesn't know, I am a twin! I have a beautiful twin sister called Ceri who is my best friend and my soulmate. We have never done anything like this before so we thought it might be fun! Enjoy..

L-R: Me and Ceri

Question 1: Who is the oldest?

Me: I am the oldest but only by one minute.
Ceri: Beth is the oldest. It's only by a minute because I missed her too much!

Question 2: Can you show an old photo?

Ceri: Sure. We have included two as we couldn't decide!
Me: The first one is from when we could walk and then the other one is just my favourite because we both look so happy.

Question 3: Favourite memory together is...
Ceri: I can't really think of one memory as there are way too many but I adore going to gigs with Beth. It's our time where we're really able to relax and dance the night away. She's the only person I can be myself around.
Me: Again, it's so hard to pinpoint one particular memory but I absolutely love going on our weekends away. We call it our 'twinnie bonding time' as we rarely get to see each other and this is the time we can just chat all night and not have to worry about anything.

Question 4: Each others' dream job?
Me: Ceri has always wanted to be a nurse. Ever since she was young, she's always had the passion to make people feel better. She'd be the one that would put my plasters on or 'kiss it better'. I just remember her having a little nurse trolley and uniform when she was tiny.
Ceri: Beth has always wanted to be a make-up artist. For as long as I can remember, she's been fascinated by make-up. When we were little, she used to sit for hours watching mum and our sister-in-law putting on their make-up. I always get her to do mine now and I'd be lost without her skills!

Question 5: Who takes longer to get ready?
Ceri: Obviously Beth. I can get ready in 10 minutes and be ready to leave the house but Beth needs at least 30 minutes to do her make-up.
Me: I'm not even going to deny it!

Question 6: Do you have anything matching?
Me: No, not really. We have very different likes and dislikes.
Ceri: I think we might get matching tattoos in the future but that's it really.

Question 7: Did you ever dress alike?
Ceri: Yeah, mum used to dress us alike all the time but we hate it now.
Me: We either used to have matching or matching but different colours.

Question 8: Song that reminds you of the other person?
Ceri: Ah, I don't know! A song that reminds me of B is a song called 'The Remedy' by Jason Mraz. It's all about not letting the little things in life get you down. It's such a happy song and Beth is always the person to pick me up when I'm feeling miserable.
Me: 'I'm Only Me When I'm With You' by Taylor Swift. It just describes how I feel when I'm with her so perfectly. She's the only person I can be myself around.

Question 9: Name one thing you can do well that the other can't?
Me: Ceri is extremely creative so she's better at that kind of stuff. She's also better at voicing her opinions and speaking out when it's necessary whereas I'm quite reserved.
Ceri: Beth is a lot better at socialising. She can talk to anyone and keep a conversation going but I find it really hard. She's also a lot better at makeup-y things!

Question 10: Do you have the same personalities?
Ceri: Aspects of our personalities are similar. For example, we're both quite headstrong and passionate about making a difference. We're also very accepting of people and love people way to easily!
Me: We have completely different coping mechanisms. Ceri can talk through her problems and will get over things quickly. She's very chilled out. I bottle my feelings up a lot and would rather deal with problems myself rather than get other people involved. It takes me a while to forgive people.

L-R: Me and Ceri

Question 11: Silliest question about being twins?
Me: I hate being asked if we can read each others minds! That's impossible.
Ceri: We do have a 'twinnie sense' though. I always know when she's upset. But I think that just comes with spending that much time with someone.

Question 12: Describe each other in one word.
Ceri: Passionate. Because she puts her whole entire heart and soul into everything she does. She loves people with every inch of her being and would never want to see someone hurt. She's so into making a difference and changing how people perceive the world.
Me: Selfless. She always puts other people first and leaves her problems behind if someone else is in need. She would rather suffer herself, than let other people down or see a person upset.

L-R: Ceri and Me

Question 13: One thing that annoys you about the other?
Me: Ceri bites her nails. It's the smallest thing but it literally grinds one me.
Ceri: Her love of makeup, haha. All of her time is spent on making sure that she has enough content for her blog and looking up tips and reviews. She also never has any money!

Question 14: If you could go anywhere in the world together, where would it be?
Me: Los Angeles. There seems to be so much to do there and so many experiences to have. I would absolutely love to share them with Cez and just have some time together, in the sun.
Ceri: Hawaii. The place just seems so peaceful and I would love to just relax with Beth and spend some time away from this crazy world.

L-R: Ceri and Me

Question 15: Nicknames you have for each other?
Ceri: It's kinda boring but I call her B. Like a little bumble bee.
Me: I call her Chummie. She's my happiness and my chum.

Question 16: What does the other order at fast food restaurants?
Me: Ceri orders anything chicken related. Whether that be chicken strips, chicken nuggets, you name it, she'll have it.
Ceri: Beth's favourite is Chinese food. She usually orders Sweet and Sour chicken and pinches a bit of everyone else's too.

L-R: Me and Ceri

Question 17: Favourite thing about each other?
Ceri: Her ability to make me laugh in any situation. She always knows how to cheer me up.
Me: My favourite thing about Ceri is her personality. She's so good-willed and literally brings light into my life. I honestly wouldn't be where I am without her and I am forever thankful for the relationship we have.

Question 18: Favourite inside joke?
Me: There's just too many!
Ceri: We just goof around a lot.

Are you identical?
Ceri: Yes.
Me: Although we totally disagree.

Make Up Of The Day

I have been incredibly busy over the past couple of days so I unfortunately didn't manage to post on Friday. I'm sorry! As a mid-week apology, I thought I would upload a quick make up of the day for you all. Now, these pictures are terrible quality but you can just about see what I did. Here is the overall look;

When doing the base, I used;
  • Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (under my eyes)
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
  • Sleek Contour Kit in Light
  • Benefit Box Bush in Dandelion
I use most of these products on a daily basis but I apply more bronzer and highlighter to define my face.

When doing my eyes, I used;
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette. The colours I used specifically were virgin (in the corners and over my eyelid), half baked (over my eyelid with definition in the crease), smog (in the crease) and darkhorse (in the outer corner).
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner in Black Glamour
  • Rimmel Gel Eyeliner in Black (for the waterline)
  • Eyelure False Eyelashes in Lengthening 035
For my lips I wore a Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 01.

My Nail Polish Storage and Collection

Recently I purchased a nail polish rack to put up on my wall. This is because all of my nail polishes were just thrown into a drawer but it started over-flowing. I used to get a subscription box called Nailbox that came every month with five new polishes; these being both high end and drugstore. I absolutely loved receiving it but I literally had no more space to store things. I'd seen a few blog posts on this type of storage and knew I had to get something similar so I just Amazon'd it and found this!

I have a European/French theme in my bathroom and this suits the decor perfectly. You can get it in many different colours and because of the material, it is easy to spray paint a different colour. The one I brought is £29.49 and holds around 100 bottles. It's available here.

Here are the shelves singly and the way I have organised my nail polishes;

The top row of the rack holds all of my Barry M nail polishes. These are definitely my favourite brand and I own ALOT of them. The row is actually doubled up! I organised them in collections.

The next row holds some more drugstore nail polishes. The brands on this shelf are Elf, Rimmel and Topshop. Again, they are organised in collections.

The next row holds a mixture. There are Tanya Burr and Sally Hansen nail polishes first and then all my OPI ones. I absolutely love OPI polishes and am always buying the gift sets for myself around Christmas.

The fourth row holds a complete mixture of different brands. These include; True Brit, Nails Inc, Avon, Bourjois, NCLA, Lottie London, New Kid, Sinful Colours, Colour Club and Lollipops. Again, there is more polishes stored behind them.

The last row then holds all of my top and base coats, some sample nail polishes and lastly, my Essie ones.

I hope you enjoyed a quick tour of my nail varnish rack,

MAC Haul

Last year was the year of MAC for me. For the past couple of years, I have received MAC products from my parents as Christmas presents and I absolutely loved them but I have never really had the interest of buying my own products, partly because of the price, but also because there are so many other brands that I love. Because of the hype around MAC products though, I started doing some research into them and their best-selling products to see what I should try. I brought a few lipsticks and a blusher and quickly fell in love. I now own 12 lipsticks and a couple of blushes.

For my birthday, I decided to book myself in for a make-over with one of the MAC artists. I really wanted to try some more of their products i.e. foundation, as I'd only ever focused on the things that I knew. I couldn't believe how amazing my make-up was when I left and of course, I had to buy some products! Here's what I brought;

The first product the make-up artist used on me was a softening lotion. I suffer from dry skin around my T-section and always struggle to find a nice product to use before applying my make-up that will be easy and not mean having to wash my face with an exfoliator, but this is literally incredible. My skin felt so smooth and this product is now one of my holy grails. I will be repurchasing this constantly. I also got a foundation which has great coverage and a lovely finish. I will have to purchase a lighter shade of this though as it's a bit too dark for my skin for everyday use.

Lightful C Marine - Bright Formula Softening Lotion and Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
The next things I brought are part of the Prep + Prime collection. I had a sample of the Prep + Prime skin and loved it. Especially the fact that it had small glitter specs in it. I also got the Prep + Prime highlighter in Radiant Rose. This left such an amazing finish to my skin. I normally always buy powder highlighters as in the past I haven't really gotten on well with liquid ones but this one is a dream to blend.

Prep + Prime Skin and Prep + Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose
I then brought a Paintpot in Painterly which is a lovely nude colour that can be used as a base or alone. The colour makes my skin look super flawless. I also got a fluidline in Blacktrack which is very creamy and very easy to apply.

Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly and Fluidline in Blacktrack
Then, I brought a lip liner in burgundy. The artist used a lipstick on me that I already own so I could top it up during the evening (Viva Glam 3). I brought the lip liner that matched the lipstick she used but also various other ones in my collection. Burgundy is my go to lip colour.

Viva Glam Lipstick in Viva Glam 3 and Lip Pencil in Burgundy
Lastly, I brought two brushes. One to apply the fluidline I brought and another to contour with. Both are extremely good quality although they both seem to be loosing a few bristles from the brush.

Pointed Liner Brush 211 and Small Contour Brush in 109
And that's it! I spent a lot of money but honestly, it was so worth it. Seeing all the products used and knowing they actually work for my skin is a good reason to buy this much. I honestly recommend for anyone to go and get it done. And if you're in Plymouth, ask for Natalie or Hannah. They really made me feel extremely comfortable and are very talented!

My New Year Resolutions

Another year is already over. I'm honestly so excited to see what 2016 will bring and I can't wait to try new things and meet new people. I have so many things planned for next year including concerts, festivals and a holiday so I'm hoping it's going to be a great year.

Every year, I always make resolutions but rarely ever stick to them. They're normally things like lose weight, save money etc. which is the usual resolution to most people. Instead of doing that, this year I've decided to make some resolutions that are mostly beauty related and things that I will really benefit from, if I stick to them. Here are the ones that I have decided on;
  1. Moisturise daily - I own so many body lotions/butters it's crazy. I normally only moisturise when I'm having a major pamper session which is very rare. I just love how hydrated my skin feels when I use body lotions and how the scent stays on my skin for hours. I definitely will be sticking to this resolution and will hopefully use up my stash!
  2. Carry out a skincare routine daily - I am probably the laziest person when it comes to carrying out a skincare routine. To remove my make-up, I usually use wet wipes that aren't very good for my skin. Again, I own so many products to treat my skin but just never use them. I can tell the difference it's going to make to my face and hopefully make-up application will be easier.
  3. Buy less make-up - So this probably sounds ridiculous but I really do own a lot of make-up. I love collecting it but at the moment, still living with my parents, there isn't much room to store things. This is probably the one that is going to be the hardest to stick to but hopefully I can do it. I will be purchasing make-up sometimes, solely for the purpose of this blog but that's it.
  4. Blog frequently - I will now try and upload every single Friday.
I would love to hear everybody else's resolutions so please comment below!

Happy New Year everyone!!
